What is Documentary Family Photography?
Documentary Family Photography is a different approach to creating memories. It is unposed documentation of your family, with all the quirky expressions of young children, the meltdowns and tantrums, and the in-between moments that are the fabric of your life.
My mentor once told me that life is often more about the small brush strokes and details. This teaching led me to a passion for observing and photographing the quiet moments in our lives. With a background in photojournalism, my specialty is documenting the daily lives of people and exploring what it means to be human.
With documentary photography sessions, you don’t have to worry about coordinating outfits, selecting a scenic location or having children behave in a certain way. You can wear what’s comfortable and be your authentic selves. Let me spend a day in the life with you, or part of a day, whether that’s a normal day at home, cooking together, an outing at the playground, spending time at a relative’s or whatever else your day may involve.
Pricing for local sessions in the Yakima Valley, or within a 50-minute drive:
2-hour session: $300
4-hour session: $500
8-hour session: $1,100
I provide digital files for personal use (sharing online and printing rights for creating your own albums). The amount of final images you receive will vary depending on the length of the session. For out-of-town requests, please reach out for a unique quote. I can provide documentary-style photo coverage for a range of events, including (but not limited to): birthday parties, family reunions/gatherings and at-home births.
Feel free to connect with me for more information, or to book a session!
